Families of each migrant workers in Yilan tragedy will receive 8.4 million pesos as compensation


Taipei, Taiwan- Yesterday, October 2, 2019. The management of Taiwan International Ports Corporation Ltd. (TIPC) announced its plan for the compensation of the victims in the collapsed bridge in Yilan County, wherein five corpses were retrieved and one still missing and then 10 were injured including the truck driver.

The families of each migrant workers who died in the incident will received a compensation of NT$5 million (Php8.4 million) and rest of the survivors will receive between NT$10,000 and NT$36,000. According to Lin Chien-ming (林健明), TIPC chief secretary.
