Filipino gymnast captured the first ever gold medal in 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships


Germany- A Filipino athlete made a history in the 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships after bagging the first ever gold medal for the Philippines, Saturday in Germany.

The Gymnast Carlos Yulo made history on Saturday as he captured the country’s first ever gold medal in the 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships which was held in Stuggart Germany.

He garnered a total score of 15.3 in the men’s floor exercise final of the event while Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat secured the silver with a record of 15.2 points. And China’s Xiao Ruoteng bagged the bronze with 14.933 points.

Yulo is the second Filipino athlete's to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics which will be held in Japan.
