JUST IN: Magnitude 6.3 earthquake shakes Cotabato Province in Philippines

Tonight, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) reported that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook part of Mindanao.

The earthwork quake struck at 7:37 pm with an epicenter monitor 22 kilometers from the southest of Talunan, Cotabato. The epicenter has 15 kilometers depth.

The United States geological survey recorded that the earthquake was slightly stronger in magnitude 6.4 and its epicenter area was 7 kilometers in the East - Northeast of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.

The quake was felt in various parts of Mindanao.

Kidapawan City residents felt the Intensity VII earthquake, while in Tupi, South Cotabato;  Alabel, Sarangani is Intensity V was they felt.  Intensity IV was felt in Kiamba Sarangani, T'boli, South Cotabato, and General Santos.  Intensity III in Cagayan de Oro City;  Gingoong City, Misamis Oriental.  Whereas Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental was felt Intensity II and in Dipolog City, and Bislig City was Intensity I.

The aftershock of magnitude 5.5 happened around
8:09pm at Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.
