More strict fines imposed for Decency Rules in Saudi Arabia


The government of Saudi Arabia has imposed more strict fines for people who will violates its decency rules. The Department of Affairs advice the OFWs to follow the rules.

The following punishable offense are:

°Act of Sexual Nature
1st violation: 3,000 Riyals
Repeated violation: 6,000 Riyals

°Playing music during prayer times
°Taking picture or videos without permission
1st violation: 1,000 Riyals
Repeated violation: 2,000 Riyals

°Playing music in high volume inside a residential area
°Littering and Spitting
1st violation: 500 Riyals
Repeated violation: 1,000 Riyals

°Bypassing barriers to access public places
°Wearing clothing that encourages discrimination, Racism, Porn or drug use
1st violation: 500 Riyals
Repeated violation: 1,000 Riyals

°Occupying seat & facilities for elderly and disabled
1st violation: 200 Riyals
Repeated violation: 400 Riyals

°Non-removal of pet excrement by owner
°Wearing improper clothing in public
1st violation: 100 Riyals
Repeated violation: 200 Riyals

°Dressed only in underwear or sleepwear
°Wearing clothing with profane language or obscene images or symbols in public
1st violation: 100 Riyals
Repeated violation: 200 Riyals

°Writing or drawing on Public Transportation vehicles and walls
°Slogans or images on public transportation vehicles that encourage Racism, Porn or drug use
1st violation: 100 Riyals
Repeated violation: 200 Riyals

°Commercial labeling and distributing flyers without permission
°Igniting fires in parks and public places
°Harmful lighting in Public
1st violation: 100 Riyals
Repeated violation: 200 Riyals

°Skipping waiting lines in Public Places
1st violation: 50 Riyals
Repeated violation: 100 Riyals

Note: Only Saudi Police has the authority to collect the penalties.
