Mandaue City, Philippines -  Over 400 kilos of pork and pork-related products from Central Luzon were burned by the African Swine Fever Provincial Task Force on Monday. The burning of the products is carried out at the RRDS Petro-Chemical Industries Inc. facility in Mandaue City, Philippines. As reported in TV Patrol Cebu.

According to Provincial Veterinarian Dr.  Mary Rose Vincoy said they had obtained products from Central on the shelves of supermarkets and markets as well as at the docks forcing merchants to trade. She added that their strict implementation of Executive Order No.16 by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will continue to prohibit all pork and pork-related products from Luzon so that pigs in Cebu will not be infected with ASF.

The Task Force ASF admitted that despite their operations, individuals and business people are still struggling and are now studying the filing of an administrative case especially for supermarket operators who still display products until now from Luzon. They are also called on local governments in the province to assist them in their monitoring and surveillance.
