136 kilogram of drugs intercepted in port of Kaoshiung in Taiwan

Kaoshiung City- The Authorities in Kaoshiung were able to seize 122 containers containing 136.435 kilograms of drugs in the north port of Kaoshiung last November 3, at around 10:00 am.

After a tipped from the intellegence, the Coastguard, Custom, and Police went together to inspect the 122 containers in the Re-export section and they found out the first-class type of cocaine.

According to the investigation, the drugs are from Central and South America and to be delivered in Southeast Asia. A couple of months ago the intelligence in Taiwan had received a tip that the port of Kaohsiung will be used as a back door of shipments to its destination. The authorities did not mention the country of destination to avoid conflict on the investigation since the consignor of the container is not Taiwanese and they find it hard to locate the shipper.

They are now coordinating with the international counterparts to trace the origin and the consignee.
