38 distressed OFW with unpaid salary for 2 months are repatriated from KSA

Last Monday, November 11, 2019, the 38 OFWs repatriated from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Base on the report, the 38 OFWs are jobless over two months ago because they were fired after they refused to work as a cleaners. Based on their iqama or residence certificate they are designated as visual merchandisers in KSA. So the OFWs contact OWWA in Manila then OWWA contact their agency that deployed them.

Philippine Overseas Labor Office-OWWA officials in Riyadh are helping the OFWs in what they need until they repatriated. Distressed OFWs are not paid their salaries for two months.

OWWA deputy administrator Mocha Unson welcomed OFWs upon their arrivals. Before OFWs sent homes to their town they receive P20,000 from OWWA. OFWs are happy that they finally home.
