Manila, Philippines - Yesterday afternoon, an employee at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport returned an envelope containing $ 4,700 or P239,079 equivalent in peso.
Emiline Herrera, a food server at Terminal 1 returned the envelope to the cabin after discovering that it was a rubbish but she couldn't believe that it has a dollars inside.
An female passenger allegedly owned the envelope according to information obtained from the airport's lost and found section.
Herrera has been alleged to have worked as a food server for nearly three decades at the airport and earns P18,000 a month.
Despite the high income, Herrera said she did not think to keep the envelope because she knew the owner was worried.
Airport General Manager Ed Monreal praised Herrera for her loyalty and said the Manila International Airport Authority would invite her to flag raising on Monday for recognition.
