More stronger and safer Taiwan, President Tsai Ing-wen promised if win for next election

Taipe, Taiwan- President Tsai Ing-wen and former Premier Lai Ching-te formally entered the presidential race on the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Tuesday.

President Tsai said that if she elected for 2nd term in January 2020, she promised to make Taiwan a stronger and safer country. She and her running mate have completed their registration at the Central Election Commission (CEC). She also said that the Republic of China (Taiwan) is a sovereign state that gives voters a free choice to whom they want to vote.

Lai said in a report that he hoped to see the DPP would empower the administration to protect Taiwan's democracy.

The other party in presidential election are the People's First Party (PFP) and KMT and both registered the candidacy at the CEC.
