Sen. Bong Revilla pushes new bill to give 50,000 pesos cash assistance for every departing OFW


 After Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. filed a bill last Wednesday about OFW Remittance Fees, he proposed another bill for the sake of OFW's.

The Senate Bill No.801 is focused on loan for OFW's. The bill offers a Php 50,000 cash assistance loans for OFW's. The purpose of this bill is to help the families of balikbayan to support their financial needs while the OFW's is employment for the first month to the third month. They can avail this loan if they have a valid contract with Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA)  and they can get the cash assistance through Overseas Worker Welfare Administration(OWWA) the duration of payment is 12 months to pay and will not exceed to 24 months with an annual interest of 6%.

 According to Sen. Bong Revilla, this bill will help the families of OFW for their financial needs because our balikbayan's will not receive their salary already for 1-3 months if they are newly employed.

  9. Well, for me I'm not favor for this although I'm an ofw worker. As far as my interest di bale nalang kasi sahod namin sa middle east di naman sinusunod ng mga employer at kahit mag reklamo pa kami sa agency at embassy wala naman silang magawa. So useless pa rin. Aalis para mangibang bansa tapos baon pa sa utang na may tubo.

  10. 6 % interest annually? Yang 6% malaking tulong na yan sa family namin. Bat may interest pa? Wag nalang. Senator bong, dapat pagtuonang pansin ay Yong strickly implemented na minimum salary na nakasaad sa contract. Kung di magbigay ang employer ng minimum salary as per law dapat di sila bigyan ng taga agency ng katulong or housemaid.
