A OFW was arrested for selling marijuana along with 3 Taiwanese nationals

Taipei, Taiwan (December 6, 2019)- Yesterday a Filipino migrant worker along with three Taiwanese nationals have been arrested by Taichung Prosecutors for growing, producing and selling marijuana in Taiwan.

According to Taichung prosecutors, a 29-year-old Filipino named Majcher Joseth Tolibas is accused of working with two taiwanese men known as He and Sun.  Also included a Taiwanese woman with a surnamed Shen who grows them, and produces marijuana in their rented house in Taichung and Tainan.

According to the indictment, Tolibas and Sun (29-year-old) began growing marijuana plants at their house in Taichung and Tainan, which has been providing financial support by He (39 years old) since September 2017.

Tolibas and Sun are in charge of producing finished products where they sell them immediately after they are finished, the indictment said.  Sun further directs Shen to buy cannabis seeds from the US where they get it through a friend.

In the months following the investigation, prosecutors and police raided the home of Tolibas and Sun on February 20 through a lawsuit they received in November 2018. On their housre authorities  discovered cannabis plants, marijuana flowers and seeds and finished products and manufacturing equipment and confiscated all of them.

All four were sentenced this Thursday for violating the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act.
