14 OFW from Iraq are on their way home - DND

The spokeperson of the Department of Defense said, the first batch of OFWs repatriated from Iraq was now on Baghdad Embassy for travel to Doha, Qatar before coming back to the Philippines. In the statement of Arsenio Andolong, first batch of Filipino workers repatriated from Middle East was consist of 14 persons.

According to the Embassy the numbers of OFWs who will return will increase as they call the others who wished to come back to our country.

On News Tv Dobol B, Andolong added due to the logistical concerns the OFWs repatriated from Iraq will not travel to Manila directly.

Roy Cimatu a Special Envoy to the Middle East and Concurrent Environment Secretary was already in Qatar for the implementation of OFws repatriation.

Andolong said on GMA News Tv program Dobol B that the discussion in all community was done for successful execution of OFWs repatriation in Middle East.

The focus of OFWs repatriation is on Iraq because of the alert level 4 while in Lebanon was alert level 2 and for Iran there is no current alert level. So, they will give their attentions in Iraq said Labor Secretary Silvestro Belo III on the interview in Dobol B News Tv.

Belo III said, Cimatu already talk to more than 100 OFWs for their repatriation and they are now preparing to leave Middle East.
