Duterte assure the government have enough fund to support the evacuation in the Middle East


Last Thursday, The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said, the government have enough fund to support the airfare of all OFWs who would like to return home. This statement was made after the tension arises between the US and Iran.

On an exclusive interview in Abs-CBN, President Duterte said that he liked to secure the safety of all Filipino worker in the Middle East that's why he ordered a mandatory evacuation. He told Ted Failon, the government have enough fund to pay all the airfare of Filipino workers.

The Philippine Government have enough money under the National budget for 2020 this statement said by the Department of Budget and Management to the public.

Wednesday, the Budget Assistance Secretary Rolando Toledo said that the government allocate 1.8 billion pesos for the repatriation of OFWs in the Middle East.

Duterte added that he told the Armed Forces of the Philippines to use all their assets for the evacuation of Filipino workers who might be trapped in the crossfire between the US and Iran.

The President said, to priorities Filipino who is near in the in danger areas. He ordered Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana to send available resources like air asset to help the evacuation.

Due to his fear for his countrymen in the Middle East, he asked the Senate Congress to have a special session to discuss the tensions between Washington and Tehran.
