Magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the coast of Jamaica, Tsunami alert was raised

A Magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck the coast of Jamaica this morning Tuesday, United States time. A Tsunami warning was issued by the US Tsunami Weather Service’s Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 125 km Northwest of Lucea in Jamaica with a preliminary depth of 10 km.

The said Agency has issued a hazardous Tsunami threat within 300 kilometers from the epicenter. The places of Jamaica, Belize, Cuba, Honduras, Mexico and Cayman Island will the most be affected by the tsunami warning.

1-3ft above the tide level will be felt along the coastline within 300 kilometers radius. The earthquake was felt in Havana and Miami.
