DFA is ready for the repatriation of OFWs in China

The Department of Foreign Affairs said on their statement that they are ready for repatriation for our OFWs in China due to Novel Corona Virus 2019 outbreak.

Last Thursday they made a statement that they are ready to repatriate the first batch of OFWs next week who wants to leave China but it needs to follow the rules of the disease.

All OFWs need to undergo quarantine and get clearance and another necessary process to leave China.

According to DFA, they're a first priority for the first batch repatriation are OFWs in Wuhan and Hubei but if they wish to be included in the first batch, they need to go to Philippine Embassy in Beijing or in the nearest Consulate General in their area on February 3, 2020, Monday.

All OFWs who are repatriated from China should undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days when they arrived in the country said the Department of Health.

Yesterday, the Department of Health confirmed the first case of Novel-coronavirus in the Philippines. It was identified as a female Chinese from Wuhan China who first arrived in the country last January 21 from Hongkong.

The novel-coronavirus 2019 cases recorded was 7,000 infected persons and 170 confirmed death.
