MANILA - Taytay Municipal Health Office declared the death of an eighty-year-old patient after being afflicted with coronavirus 2019. The news were recently updated as Tatay Municipal Health office had corrected from 8 years old to 80 years old.
Today, there are three confirmed cases in Taytay: the deceased 80-year-old, a 77-year-old man also from Barangay San Juan who is now confined in Metro Manila hospital, and a 48-year-old man from Barangay Dolores.
COVID-19, which was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), is caused by a coronavirus classified as SARS-CoV-2 which is related to the other coronavirus that causes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome but is not as deadly. COVID-19 has a 3-percent mortality rate.
