DOH requires patients to reveal important information to protect health workers

MANILA - Patients having symptoms of COVID-19 are encourage by DOH to be honest enough and tell the necessary information upon their check up to ensure the safety of the health workers and also to prevent the spread of the virus.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said many frontline health care workers are at risk of getting infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) because of the nature of their jobs.

"Nai-infect po ang ating healthcare workers dahil sila po ang ating frontline workers dito po sa pagresponde natin sa COVID-19. Sila po ang nasa ospital na nagsasakrispisyo para alagaan po lahat ng ating mga pasyente," she said in a virtual press conference Sunday.

She appealed to all patients to disclose all necessary information so as to protect health care workers from possible infection.

As of Sunday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has climbed to 380, as 73 new patients were recorded.

Six more people died from the disease, raising the toll to 25, while the number of patients who recovered increased to 17.
