Laguna implemented lockdown, 180 commuters trapped

The Province of Laguna declared lockdown on Saturday amid COVID-19 increasing figures of cases and fatalities in their area. After the said lockdown there were 180 commuters stranded from passing through the boundary of Laguna, they are not allowed to enter and leave the province.

This is just a preventive measure done by the local authorities due to COVID-19 threat.

Alaminos Mayor Eladio Magampon asked for cooperation and understanding from the public and said the lockdown is part of the province’s precautionary measures against COVID-19.

The province of Laguna has been on total lockdown since 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 due to the rising cases of COVID-19, according to Laguna governor Ramil Hernandez.

A total of 33 confirmed COVID-19 cases, and three deaths have been recorded in Laguna as of Sunday. Also, the province has 770 persons under investigation (PUIs) and more than 5,000 persons under monitoring (PUMs).

The Philippines has recorded 1,418 COVID-19 cases, 71 deaths, and 42 recoveries.
