Things to do if infected with tuberculosis


Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by bacteria. The symptoms of TB include night sweats, weakness or tiredness, cough, fever, and weight loss. Consult a doctor if you have any symptoms of the disease.

Here are doctor Liza Ong's advice in tuberculosis:

1. Follow the doctor's advice. Drink the medicine from 6 to 9 months. It is important that you take all your medicine. TB bacteria are spread through the air from one person to another.

2. Stay in the house in 3 weeks of medication. Don't go to school or work.

3. Open the window in your room. Do not go with others in 3 weeks of medication.

4. A person with TB should cover their mouth when sneezes, throat coughs with tissue and throw it in the trash can.

5. Use a face mask if you want to go outside the house.

6. Take all your medicine and do not stop until the doctor's advice.

7. Go to a doctor for a monthly check-up.

8. Do a healthy lifestyle. Eat nutritious foods.

9. Always be positive in life. TB can be cure after the medication.
