Taiwan has donated 300,000 pieces of Face Masks to Philippines



TECO has confirmed today, April 14, 2020. That the country of Taiwan is about to donate 300,000 pieces of face masks to Philippines and expected to arrived tomorrow Wednesday in Manila.

As mentioned by President Tsai Ing-wen last Wednesday that the government of Taiwan will donate 10 million masks to seriously affected countries due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Australia, and New Zealand, will received masks according to MOFA. While Philippines is expected to received a large amount of masks in views of its population.

The United States, 11 European nations, countries in Latin America and the Caribbean is also included in the list of beneficiaries of Taiwan's campaign. "Taiwan can help, and Taiwan is helping," slogan.

Taiwan has increased its production of face masks, the country has the ability to give masks to those countries that experiencing the lack of medical supplies because of coronavirus.

On Tuesday, Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs announced Taiwan's daily surgical mask output has hit 13 million.

The current daily output is more than four times the amount that Taiwan was capable of producing in early February, when Taiwan produced an average of 3.2 million surgical masks per day.
