Herbal medicine: Coconut (Niyog-niyogan)


The coconut tree is a creeping plant that has hardwood branches. It is known as an ornamental plant because of its flower with vivid color and fragrant fragrance. It is called coconut because it tastes exactly like coconut. The plant usually grows in lowland areas and within the tropics of tropical countries including the Philippines.

 The nutrients and chemicals available in Coconut:
* Plants - contain alkaloids, carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids, saponins, glycosides, steroids, tannins, flavanoids, and phenolic compounds.
* Branches- the oil found in the bones is oleic acid and palmitic acid.
* Leaf - contains routine, trigonelline, L-proline, L-aspagine and quisqualic acid. Some parts of the plant can be used as medicine:
* Leaves - the leaves are usually grown for certain conditions. It can also be squeezed before being applied to the skin.
 * Seeds - coconut seeds are usually dried and eaten or boiled for drinking. It can be wired to eat.

Diseases and conditions that can be treated with coconut:
1.)Throat - eating coconut-bone meal is effective for fever.
2.) Cough - The cured leaves of the plant are effective for coughing.
3.)Skin Disease - various types of skin diseases such as eczema can be helped by the induction of dehydrated coconut leaves.
4.)Diarrhea - used coconut-soaked seeds to stop the disease- continuous pollination.
5) Headache - for headache, it usually develops on the forehead.
6.)UTI - The difficulty of urinating and feeling sick at the time of pregnancy can be alleviated with the help of drinking the nourishment of coconut leaves.
7.)Breathe in the stomach - a strong blow to the stomach worms is the food of dried coconut bones.
